What does it look like working with The Simplest Self 1:1? 

How long does it take to feel better? 

This is a reasonable question and also can be very difficult to predict. Some people start to feel tangible changes after 6 or so sessions, it really depends on what you are looking for in this work. It really depends on what you are looking for in this work. Some really enjoy having a safe space to come back to while others really just want some key tools through our 12 week program to then take into their own life.

What kind of humans do you work with? 

We work with adults who are ready to work on their emotional health and start to understand how their past survival strategies are impacting their everyday life. This work is slow and titrated, because we know it can feel really scary at first. So we slowly work to expand your capacity and window of tolerance so you can start to get to know your body and emotions without feeling like they're going to destroy you. 

Is 1:1 work a good place to start? 

Yes. We always suggest starting with our signature program 12 Weeks of Healing.

12 Weeks of Healing is a comprehensive experience designed to empower you in reclaiming your well-being and creating lasting change. Through personalized 1:1 coaching calls, rich educational content, and integrative practices, you will embark on a path of healing, growth, and self-discovery.

Whether you're seeking to understand the impact of trauma, develop practical tools for self-regulation, enhance your emotional intelligence, or cultivate secure and fulfilling relationships, our program is tailored to meet your unique needs. We believe in your inherent strength and resilience, and our experienced coaches are committed to providing you with a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for growth.

How long are sessions? How often do we meet?

They are 55 minutes in length and conducted via Zoom. Clients meet with their practitioners weekly throughout the program. Once the program is completed, clients have the option to continue 1:1 work with their practitioner. Session frequency may be tapered as you progress and become more comfortable applying what you have learned in session. 

What is top down and bottom up processing? 

Top down processing involves processing explicit memories, practicing self-compassion, doing inner child work, and connecting your past trauma to your present behavior. Bottom up processing involves regulating your nervous system, breath work and somatic work, and processing implicit memories and body sensations. This combination in which you can help your body experience regulation and then involve your mind to continue to process can help tremendously. 

What about rates and insurance?

Our current rate for our signature program depends on which practitioner you are working with.  This rate is based off of our expertise, training, and energetic exchange. We do hold a few spots for sliding scale clients, as we know this is a financial investment. We are not able to take insurance because The Simplest Self is a coaching practice and while we utilize therapeutic elements, we are not a therapy practice. Though all our practitioners are trained clinically and in complex trauma, we do not offer clinical advice and do not diagnose in this practice. If we feel a client is needing more structure due to their diagnostic background, we refer out. We do work with clients who have had a diagnosed disorder, however they come to us after having initial tools and resources implemented.  

                          within this coaching practice is to help humans feel safe in their bodies so they can feel empowered in their life. We are here to hold space in a compassionate and curious way. Using both top-down and bottom-up modalities, we begin to connect you back to yourself, regulate your emotions, and start to understand that you make sense so you can begin to walk forward in your life. 

Our intention 

She welcomed all topics of conversation, from childhood experiences to current relationship roadblocks, and helped me connect all things to presence in body and honoring my intuition. In such a short amount of time Lauren has helped me move mountains. I have started feeding myself, finding alternatives to shutting down when my emotions are elevated, and have found a type of movement that feels good and doesn’t trigger fantasies of weight loss. At the heart of her program is connection, and I cannot recommend this course enough.
